More than grades

GCSEs should be about more than achieving grades

At The Forerunners Education, our long-term GCSE programmes are designed to nurture knowledgeable, confident Muslim students who can think critically, engage with the world through an Islamic lens, and apply their learning beyond the classroom.

Taught over two years, our courses give home-educated students in Years 8 to 11 a structured and supportive pathway. With live lessons twice a week, small classes and experienced subject specialists, students receive the guidance, accountability and personalised support they need to thrive academically and spiritually.

Our programmes don't simply teach the GCSE specification. They enrich it with meaningful discussion, real-world application and an Islamic worldview that helps students understand why knowledge matters.

Pre-GCSE · History

Pre-GCSE History Programme

History is far more than memorising dates and events: it is about understanding people, power, justice and the world we live in. Our History Programme helps students master the GCSE curriculum while exploring history through an Islamic lens, appreciating its entanglement and complexity rather than the limited, mainstream version of a single history that does not include us. Through enrichment projects, discussion and analytical writing, students learn to think deeply and write confidently. Alongside the required content, they explore:

  • Leadership
  • Justice and oppression
  • The legacy of Muslim civilisations
  • How historical events shape society today

Pre-GCSE · Computer Science

Pre-GCSE Computer Science Programme

Technology is shaping the future, but our children need more than technical skills to navigate it wisely. Our Computer Science programme equips students with the knowledge and practical skills they need for the IGCSE while exploring technology through an Islamic worldview, learning how to evaluate and use it responsibly as Muslims. Rather than simply preparing for an exam, we prepare students to become thoughtful problem-solvers who apply Computer Science with purpose. Students study:

  • Programming
  • Algorithms
  • Data representation
  • Cybersecurity
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Digital ethics
